Every flight feels like a race. You don't have to be a top athlete to enjoy the benefits of the ARTUS. Nova has adopted the aerodynamics, aesthetics and agility of the racing version and increased its durability by strengthening the materials. This gives you that racing feel even when you're not competing, without compromising safety. The ARTUS is definitely suitable for everyday use, although Nova recommends that you handle the equipment with care.

Lightweight and comfortable. The ARTUS weighs in at around 2kg and offers a level of safety and comfort usually found in heavier harnesses. Practical features such as a variety of storage compartments and detachable parts make it easy to handle and reduce weight further. The ARTUS storage bag (supplied) provides a small amount of storage space.

Safety first. The parachute is located in the front container. From here, the V-shaped riser on the right-hand side of the harness passes through a channel to the rear, allowing the parachute to be suspended from the shoulders. The two-part ALUMINA+ hybrid protection system extends along the thighs and back to the thorax, offering extensive protection. It consists of polyurethane foam and a lightweight aluminium tubular structure. An optional inflatable ARTUS AIR protector can also be purchased for even more compact storage. For correct handling and inspection, please read the manual carefully.

Ultra-light
From light to extreme. Designed specifically for 'Hike & Fly' activities, mountaineering and 'Vol Bivouac', these products are developed to be as light and compact as possible. To achieve this, Nova uses the most advanced materials and technologies, without compromising safety. To make the most of your "Ultra-Light" equipment for as long as possible, take particular care when handling it.

Target group of pilots
The ARTUS is designed for pilots who want to fly with a very light, safe and high-performance cocoon. You'll benefit from its high level of comfort and precision handling during long cross-country flights, ambitious competitions and even during bivouac flights. The ARTUS is also suitable for everyday use, thanks to reinforced materials in the most heavily used areas.

Features in detail
Ready for take-off. It is important to close the ARTUS correctly so that you can take off quickly and safely. The diagram on the leg loops shows you how to correctly connect the coloured straps with the corresponding metal rods and rings. The colour coding for each side corresponds to the familiar pattern found on most NOVA paragliders, avoiding the possibility of incorrect attachment: red for left and green for right. Edelrid's EASE Aerotec carabiners, specially developed for paragliders, guarantee minimum weight and maximum strength.

Aerodynamic and individual. The seat position is adjusted using the back and shoulder straps for optimum flying comfort. The length of the pod can be adjusted using three straps on each side. Markings facilitate symmetrical adjustment. The three-bar speed bar passes through low-friction rings and can be operated with little effort. The plastic foot plate is very strong and protects the calves during take-off.

Space for equipment. The ARTUS offers plenty of storage space thanks to its various pockets and compartments. The rear compartment offers the most space. There's a zipped pocket on the left and right sides of the pod, and there's also space under the seat. The detachable kangaroo pocket at chest height can be used to store small items such as an external battery or a cereal bar. There are Velcro straps on the cockpit and shoulder straps for securing instruments. There are also passages for the camelbag pipette and the urine tube on the outer shell.

This chart should help you choose the right size. The pod is adapted for each size and cannot be exchanged for another size.

There's one question in every paraglider's life: switching to a cocoon harness. The cocoon harness is the ultimate in comfort The coverleg is designed to provide total support, encompassing the entire body and reducing pressure points, as well as support for the legs, which gives the pilot rest and allows you to fly faster for longer, and effective protection against the cold, thanks to the coverleg.

Cocoon or not cocoon?

You're ready to take the plunge if : You are comfortable with the semi-recumbent position, which will require you to position your whole body differently when leaning on the harness. Yaw movements will have to be approached differently. Your pelvis is a little higher, and with it your centre of gravity, so instability will be a little more pronounced than in a sports harness. However, the leg straps help to reduce this effect. You're ready to bend your legs as soon as an unfamiliar sensation arrives. Cocoon harnesses are no longer just for paragliding competitors. Their comfort has seduced adventurers and they are becoming lighter to accompany your bivouac flights... We have a whole range of cocoon harnesses for you to try out. Here you'll find your first cocoon, stable and without too many adjustments, or light and with leg straps for mountain take-offs, with a large storage volume for the bivouac or a beautiful foiler for optimised aerodynamics...
