Paragliding BEAT2 :: PHI

PHI's BEAT 2 is the leisure wing of every paraglider pilot's dreams: easy, fun, smooth and predictable, intuitive and comfortable, its handling delivers total pleasure and it is unbeatable in thermals.

The Beat was already a best-seller, but the Beat2 does it all even better! An even more powerful flying sofa... And it's lighter, both in the standard and light versions.
The standard version will come in 6 sizes, covering a range from 50 to 130 kg (wing weight from 3.9 kg to 5.2 kg). The lightweight version will come in 7 sizes, for weights from 50 to 155 kg (wing weight from 3 to 4.45 kg). 5.3 aspect ratio for 56 cells.

Several sizes have already been approved, and production is due to start shortly!

Beat (1)

A word from the designer:

"Our test team immediately loved the first BEAT prototype. It was love at first sight! The handling is perfectly balanced, the performance is convincing and the glider also handled very well in manoeuvres. Once again, we had a steady hand and a bit of luck!

We are therefore very happy to be partner pilots with this wing! With the BEAT we are now able to offer 5 B-gliders (in addition to 4 A-class gliders). With our wide range, we want to make sure that every pilot finds the right wing for himself."

BEAT Technical specifications :

With 56 cells and a flat 5.3 aspect ratio, the BEAT is in between TENOR and MAESTRO. Technically, it is a slightly less elongated MAESTRO with a few pinches of ALLEGRO (3 main lines), a bit of FANTASIA (openness) and of course SYMPHONIA (being extremely well balanced).

At the request of many pilots, the BEAT has only robust, sheathed TECHNORA lines on the brakes and stabilo, which stand out clearly from the ground in their orange colour.
With this choice, we are following our conviction that paragliding should become easier again!
Despite the theoretically higher drag of these slightly thicker lines, we could not measure a performance deficit, on the contrary. And above all, this wing seems to benefit from its exceptionally clean and smooth finish.

The BEAT has a very high dimensional stability due to its complex structure. This allows it to fly precisely and gives perfect feedback!

Phi is the paragliding brand created by Hanness Papesh, and carried by a whole team of enthusiasts. Phi has made its mark in the paragliding world with wings that are accessible, fun and built to last. Phi focuses on the quality of its wings but also pushes the reflection to deliver us perfectly accomplished wings, as well in the choice of materials as in their extraordinary performing profile. A must try!

The B are the most versatile. A wide range to suit most paragliders! In this category you'll find gliders with more finesse, aimed at both occasional paragliders and experienced cross-country flyers. Even if they are not officially under-classified, they will be called B-, B, or B+, depending on their reactivity.
  • Leasy B paragliders (enB-)They allow you to tackle the first transitions with confidence, and will react more quickly than school sails during pitch, roll and wing manoeuvres.
  • Paragliders in B are available as soon as you have your pilot's licence. The pleasure of gliding is now just a wing's length away :) They help you get a better feel for thermals, and tighten your core so you can fly efficiently from thermal to thermal. Most of them are available in a light version, with thin dyneema risers and lightweight fabric. This considerably reduces storage volume, so they can be slipped into the smallest of rucksacks to suit hike-and-fly paragliding, cross-country flying, or your luggage to accompany your travels!
  • enB+ paragliders are even faster and livelier. Typically cross-country, they are designed for pilots who are already attacking thermals and who have accumulated a good number of flights. The piloting becomes precise and dynamic, the maximum speed high, and you experience a real pleasure of gliding. Their finesse means you can hang up at the best of your transitions... Still enB approved, it is however recommended that you have already completed a pilot training course (SIV) and have compiled 50 hours of flying time per year to be able to use this type of glider. Fans of bivouac flying will also find what they're looking for in this range, as lightweight versions are also available!
As you can see, there's bound to be an enB paraglider to suit you ...
