Advance
Here you will find all the accessories and small complementary equipment indispensable paragliding. Cockpits, carabiners, helmets, risers, footbraces, accelerators, windsocks, thermal gloves, guidebooks, relief maps... We've tried to think of all your needs!
  • Harness accessories :
The harness is often pre-accessorised when you buy it, but depending on the manufacturer some items are optional, so you can also equip it to your taste :) - The foot brace: this is often a great help for getting into the harness. It's also very comfortable in the air! - The accelerator: with 2 or 3 bars, it can be a precious ally for getting to the landing zone when the wind picks up... - Instrument holder: that's it, you've started to equip yourself and you don't know where to put your toys! Fortunately, the cockpit, a kind of paraglider's 'banana', allows you to keep all your instruments in sight and store them away at the end of the flight. There are several types of cockpit to choose from, from the lightest to the most elaborate. If all you have at the moment is a radio, a radio holder is all you need. It usually attaches to a strap on your harness. - Ventral container: for touring harnesses such as leg harnesses, a para ventral pocket is often necessary to hold your emergency equipment. It's easy to attach to the main carabiners. With the handle under your nose for the whole flight, it's hard to miss in the event of a mishap! Practical, it acts as a cockpit and you can attach your flight instruments to it with Velcro. Most risers are included in the pack. When you make your purchase, we'll install your rescue together, so that you can familiarise yourself with the handling of the rescue installation.
  • Hardware :
Your harness will be delivered with suitable carabiners, but we recommend changing them every 5 years. The width of their base is adapted to that of your straps, which is why you'll find a multitude of carabiners of various sizes and shapes in this section. To be effective, the pull must be exerted vertically; if your carabiner gets in the way: beware! This means that it's not adapted, and this inadequate force will make it fragile. Don't hesitate to contact us if you have any doubts, as we know our products inside out :). Light harnesses can do without metal and use connectors, small dyneema straps that are much lighter and surprisingly stronger than steel! There's only the psychological barrier to overcome...

Your harness is delivered with suitable carabiners, but we recommend changing them every 5 years. The width of their base is adapted to the width of your straps, which is why you'll find a multitude of carabiners in various shapes and sizes in this hardware section. Tandem or acro harnesses will be fitted with steel carabiners to cope with the heavy loads and pressures exerted. To be effective, the pull must be exerted vertically; if your carabiner gets in the way: watch out! If your carabiner is crooked: watch out! It means it's not suitable, and this inadequate force will weaken it. Don't hesitate to contact us if you have any doubts, because we know our products inside out :). Should carabiners be lubricated?

Paragliding carabiners are lubricated with silicone when fitted. This is no longer necessary, except in the event of sand or other contamination. If this happens, wash with detergent, rinse, dry and lubricate with a fluid oil (as for mountaineering carabiners), but do not use grease! Regularly check that your carabiners are working properly!

How long does a carabiner last?

Unlike carabiners used in mountaineering, paragliding carabiners are not subject to impact. We still recommend replacing them every 5 years or as soon as they have difficulty closing.
