ION 7 - Versatile by design
Site flying, cross country or freestyle fun, it's all possible with the ION 7 (EN/LTF B). One of the reasons for this exceptional versatility and passive safety is NOVA's new design software. Even before flight testing, different speeds and flight manoeuvres such as collapses can be simulated more accurately than ever before.

Naturally versatile. The ION 7 has been developed using NOVA's new design software, which has already been used to develop the XENON and MENTOR 7 (Light). This makes it a fluid wing with a natural ability in all phases of flight and practice. Ease of take-off, efficiency in cross-country flight, manoeuvrability and precision in dynamic flight manoeuvres and a smooth landing flare are just some of the features that will delight pilots.

Experience and innovation. The ION 7 has an innovative design and is built using tried and tested materials. The new leading edge ribs reduce the number of seams and promote air scooping right from take-off. With the Mid Cell Links, the strength of the leading edge is further optimised, improving performance, particularly in accelerated flight.

Safer than ever. The latest version of our design software makes it possible to simulate flight manoeuvres such as collapses with extreme precision. The ION 7 combines unprecedented stability with healthy behaviour during collapses, even in accelerated flight. These in-flight characteristics make SIV manoeuvres simple and stress-free. Nova hopes you enjoy honing your reflexes in the ION 7!

Easy cross-country. In terms of design, the ION 7 is based on the MENTOR 7 (Light) cross-country wing. Among its main features, pilots will notice its great stability and high top speed. In this respect, the ION 7 offers what is usually only found in top-of-the-range EN B wings. It also has very good glide performance, an easy-to-use speed bar and good bite in thermals. Fast descent techniques such as big ears, B-stalls and 360s are also easy to perform. Nothing really stands in the way of safe, comfortable cross-country flying.

Freestyle as you like it. Thanks to its obvious manoeuvrability and great stability, the ION 7 makes it easy to get started in acro. The SAT retracts cleanly, wingovers are wide and effective, stalls are easy to find, and helices turn well. The brake travel is very long, making an unintentional stall extremely unlikely. With the ION 7, you can perform all the basic acro manoeuvres with relative ease and fine-tune your flying skills.

Target group of pilots
The ION 7 (EN/LTF B) is suitable for enthusiastic beginners as well as more qualified pilots who are looking for a versatile glider, and who strive to improve their flying technique. From local flying to cross-country and freestyle, everything is possible without sacrificing comfort or safety.

Latest
Optimised closing behaviour. The ION 7 demonstrates unprecedented smoothness during collapses. During asymmetric collapses, the glider turns very little and there is little loss of height. Nova achieved these properties through simulations in their new design software, which opens up new development possibilities. This means that Nova not only selects the best performing virtual prototypes, but also those with the best collapse behaviour from a large number of simulations. The ION 7 is the result of these simulations, and the result is a stable and safe flying experience.

Performance through stability. Performance through stability. If you look at the leading edge of the ION 7, you'll notice the new Rod Loops and Mid Cell Links. The former help to minimise seams and aid the efficiency of the Air Scoop, while the latter ensure a solid leading edge, particularly in accelerated flight, and also serve to optimise internal pressure. These two perfected solutions deliver the performance of the ION 7.

Standard lifts or XC Riser. The ION 7 / ION 7 Light comes as standard with narrow, robust 12mm Kevlar risers. They are fitted with Ronstan pulleys to reduce effort when pushing the speed bar and Fidlock magnets for easy attachment of brake handles. Pilots who want to fly even more efficiently with the speed bar can choose the optional ION 7 XC risers. This requires more attention in preparation for take-off, but gives better pitch control.

Their mission is to build paragliders that are both safe and high-performance. Performance and safety, or rather the right balance between the two, ensure maximum flying pleasure - and that's what it's all about! Paragliding is synonymous with freedom. Whether you're an amateur pilot, a cross-country pilot or an acrobatic ace: your pleasure is their motivation. All their products have undergone extensive testing to ensure they are free from potential faults. Their development is based on the skills of pilots, not on certification criteria. When classifying their products, their main concern is honesty.

The B are the most versatile. A wide range to suit most paragliders! In this category you'll find gliders with more finesse, aimed at both occasional paragliders and experienced cross-country flyers. Even if they are not officially under-classified, they will be called B-, B, or B+, depending on their reactivity.
  • Leasy B paragliders (enB-)They allow you to tackle the first transitions with confidence, and will react more quickly than school sails during pitch, roll and wing manoeuvres.
  • Paragliders in B are available as soon as you have your pilot's licence. The pleasure of gliding is now just a wing's length away :) They help you get a better feel for thermals, and tighten your core so you can fly efficiently from thermal to thermal. Most of them are available in a light version, with thin dyneema risers and lightweight fabric. This considerably reduces storage volume, so they can be slipped into the smallest of rucksacks to suit hike-and-fly paragliding, cross-country flying, or your luggage to accompany your travels!
  • enB+ paragliders are even faster and livelier. Typically cross-country, they are designed for pilots who are already attacking thermals and who have accumulated a good number of flights. The piloting becomes precise and dynamic, the maximum speed high, and you experience a real pleasure of gliding. Their finesse means you can hang up at the best of your transitions... Still enB approved, it is however recommended that you have already completed a pilot training course (SIV) and have compiled 50 hours of flying time per year to be able to use this type of glider. Fans of bivouac flying will also find what they're looking for in this range, as lightweight versions are also available!
As you can see, there's bound to be an enB paraglider to suit you ...
