The compromise between weight and price!

The Supair SHINE parachute has a bluffing opening speed thanks to a shorter line cone and a small footprint that allows it to fit in both belly and back pockets.

The Shine is a round Pull Down Apex parachute, developed by our in-house design department. Its objective is to offer a very low weight and volume while maintaining maximum safety. Thanks to its advanced design and quality materials, it will meet the essential needs of all paraglider pilots.

Approval: EN 12491 and LTF 9109
It meets the requirements of European and German safety standards.

The SHINE is a new generation of round Pull Down Apex parachute. It replaces the Light and X-tralite models that we have been offering for many years. Designed and developed by our in-house design office, it uses a proven 20 decitex fabric and a full Dyneema line.

Its weight and volume characteristics are very similar to those of the X-tralite model and much better than those of the Light model (from 15 to 20% lighter and more compact*), for a recommended retail price almost identical to the Light model!

The SHINE parachute is of course EN12491 and LTF 9109 approved

Brand

Supair

Supair is a pioneering paragliding brand, born in Haute-Savoie in 1979 thanks to the innovative spirit of Pierre Bouilloux and mountain thermals. Its common thread: the pleasure of flying, closeness to paragliders, excellence and teamwork. And they have never lost the thread. SUPAIR harnesses are inscribed in the memory of free flight. Their canopies are instinctive with a reassuring feel. The accessories accompany you in the air. The SUPAIR brand brings together designers, children of flight, and stratospheric imaginations to design outdoor products. Literally. We don't put on airs, we simply look like what we are: an efficient, well-groomed brand that is open to the freedom of the winds. Since the beginnings of paragliding, the brand has remained faithful to the creative and adventurous spirit of the pioneers, to facilitate access to the air for all new paragliders and to imagine new, innovative products and services. Everything had to be invented in the first Supair flights. Everything is still to be invented with each flight in our community.

The round rescue parachute has proved its worth since the early days of paragliding. Affordable, compact and easy to pack, it's often the first thing you buy.

How do you choose?

Thanks to its compact size, the round rescue parachute fits all harnesses. It can also be easily fitted into a ventral parachute pocket (also known as a ventral container) for light rando harnesses with leg straps. If you have any doubts about how to install it, don't hesitate to consult the manual, or come and see us directly. We can help you with the initial installation. Like your paraglider, a rescue parachute has different sizes. To optimise its opening, it is recommended to be 15% below its max ptv. CAD that if the max TPV is 100, the ideal is to be at 85kg. Most manufacturers do not take the weight of the glider into account when calculating the total weight of a rescue. So you'll have to take another look at the scales :) Although not compulsory, it is strongly recommended to ensure your safety.

Approval :

All paragliding rescue parachutes are subject to European approval. EN 12491To do this, they have to pass a number of tests: - The opening time must be less than 5s, - The shock on opening must not exceed 15g, - Pendulum stability (observation from the ground of the stabilisation of pendulum movements), a parachute that is too unstable will be readjusted (and in any case, instability increases the sink rate...). - Fall rate: after a minimum fall of 100m, the measurement is taken over the last 30 metres before "ditching" → Max 5.5m/s. To ensure that it opens effectively, manufacturers also recommend that it be re-bound every year. Tutorials are available to help you, but if you're not sure, don't hesitate to call in a professional or a sail inspection centre.
