MENTOR 7 Light - Hybrid 2.5-liner
The MENTOR 7 Light is the result of an all-new "2.5 line" hybrid design and benefits from all the research experience gained during the development of the XENON. The result is significantly improved performance and even greater cross-country potential. Its light, clever construction also meets the durability requirements you'd expect from an EN-B class sail.

The best compromise. Philipp Medicus, Head of Research and Development at NOVA, explains: "With two and a half lines we have been able to increase performance while retaining a remarkably comfortable ride compared with many 3-line models. Because of its original design, the MENTOR 7 is very different from the MENTOR 6; the evolution between version 6 and 7 is greater than between version 2 and 6! Everything is new, except of course the driver and the potential to go far!

Lightweight, intelligent construction. The MENTOR 7 Light is made up of 66 cells, assembled in a complex internal structure designed for lightness and an even distribution of forces throughout the canopy, giving the MENTOR 7 Light optimum glide and longevity for all Hike & Fly adventures.

Range of action. The performance of the MENTOR 7 Light, like the rest of the MENTOR series, lies essentially in the ease of access to all the glider's performance. At high speeds, the stability of the profile and the pitch control of the 'C's give it agility and increased robustness, particularly effective for tackling turbulent areas. Damping and safety are the hallmarks of the MENTOR. This version 7 is docile when exiting the flight envelope, thanks in particular to its moderate aspect ratio (5.5). Maximum speed has also been improved since the previous version. Everything you need to think about going even further.

Effective pitch control. The MENTOR 7 Light is fitted as standard with Height Adjustable C-handles (HAC Handles) for fast, precise pitch control in accelerated flight, previously only available on 2-lines like the XENON. This makes it easy to control incidence and compensate for the effect of turbulence. As for cross-country pilots who are making progress, the approach to this new piloting technique will be more gradual and therefore easier to assimilate (see explanations below).

Neat design. Like its big sister, the XENON, the MENTOR 7 Light now requires the inclusion of stiffeners in the canopy structure. Gone are the days of 'easy packing' and simply stuffing the sail into the bag. Now it's all about pure performance. Folding remains very simple, however, and using the Pack Roll supplied will greatly extend the life of the rushes. Note: When buying a MENTOR 7 Light you can opt for a Concertina Bag Light or a carry bag.

Multifunctional lifts. One of the major technological advances in the new Speedbrake Riser 2.0 is, of course, the HAC Handles. Another interesting feature is the introduction of Baby-B Lines, which act on the B3 line. This makes the risers more technical, yet very easy and clear to untangle on take-off. Also, without the C3 line, the action on the C lines is very effective for lowering the wing to the ground.

Target group of pilots
The MENTOR 7 Light (EN/LTF-B) is the perfect entry-level glider for high performance in the tradition of the "MENTOR" series (performance, glide, safety). It has no particular tendency to 'shoot' when inflated, yet shines with its flying qualities in its class. With its hybrid 2.5-line construction, it's obviously aimed at regular cross-country pilots who want to get the most out of their EN-B, in accelerated flight while controlling incidence with the HAC Handles. It's ideal for getting to grips with the feeling of flying a 2-line glider. However, this hybrid construction does require a few adaptations during certain phases of flight; for example, it's more efficient to use the B3s to increase sink rate, rather than the 'classic' ears.

Latest
Hybrid Design 2.5 Lines. The MENTOR 7 Light is a 2-line wingtip, with 3 lines in the centre of the canopy. There is no C3. The precise distribution of the anchor points and the optimisation of the profile for accelerated flight give this MENTOR 7 Light enormous cross-country potential, enabling it to reach high average speeds. All this while retaining the natural damping qualities of a MENTOR and the EN-B category.

Speedbrake Riser 2.0 (HAC Handles). The MENTOR 7 Light is fitted as standard with 'HAC Handles' (Height Adjustable C-Handles). These handles on the 'C's allow you to control pitch movements generated by turbulence precisely and almost instantaneously, particularly in accelerated flight. This piloting mode will make your transitions better, with comfort and little effort.

Aerodynamics for speed. The key word in the design of the MENTOR 7 Light is "speed". The profile we've chosen gives it a high degree of pitch stability, even at low angles of attack. The various digital simulations of shape acquisition (ballooning) and the distribution of forces on the wing have been optimised for accelerated flight regimes. The leading edge and air inlets have been refined to maintain an ideal pressure profile in these same fast flight configurations. The result is excellent glide, exceptional performance and enormous stability in fast phases of flight.

Their mission is to build paragliders that are both safe and high-performance. Performance and safety, or rather the right balance between the two, ensure maximum flying pleasure - and that's what it's all about! Paragliding is synonymous with freedom. Whether you're an amateur pilot, a cross-country pilot or an acrobatic ace: your pleasure is their motivation. All their products have undergone extensive testing to ensure they are free from potential faults. Their development is based on the skills of pilots, not on certification criteria. When classifying their products, their main concern is honesty.

Mountain paragliding offers the promise of wild escapes, immersion in nature, tranquillity on take-off and the shared pleasure of a hike with friends... Lightweight paragliders are becoming increasingly popular, and with good reason: thanks to their small size, you can take your paragliding equipment with you wherever you go. Whether you're travelling or in the mountains, you'll never miss another opportunity to fly! Mountain gliders are affordable, and are usually enA or enB approved, so you can fly in variable air conditions in complete safety. A true Swiss Army knife of paragliding, they have a lot going for them! Thanks to their compact size and featherweight, they're just as appealing to backpacking paragliders as they are to mountain lovers. To meet an increasingly versatile demand, this range of lightweight paragliders now offers a wide range of possibilities: ultralight gliders for paralpinism, compact gliders for travellers, or light and sleek gliders for bivouac flights, you're bound to find your new ally here... Our centre is ideally located at the foot of the mountains... Make the most of it! Come and try out our favourite playgrounds!

The B are the most versatile. A wide range to suit most paragliders! In this category you'll find gliders with more finesse, aimed at both occasional paragliders and experienced cross-country flyers. Even if they are not officially under-classified, they will be called B-, B, or B+, depending on their reactivity.
  • Leasy B paragliders (enB-)They allow you to tackle the first transitions with confidence, and will react more quickly than school sails during pitch, roll and wing manoeuvres.
  • Paragliders in B are available as soon as you have your pilot's licence. The pleasure of gliding is now just a wing's length away :) They help you get a better feel for thermals, and tighten your core so you can fly efficiently from thermal to thermal. Most of them are available in a light version, with thin dyneema risers and lightweight fabric. This considerably reduces storage volume, so they can be slipped into the smallest of rucksacks to suit hike-and-fly paragliding, cross-country flying, or your luggage to accompany your travels!
  • enB+ paragliders are even faster and livelier. Typically cross-country, they are designed for pilots who are already attacking thermals and who have accumulated a good number of flights. The piloting becomes precise and dynamic, the maximum speed high, and you experience a real pleasure of gliding. Their finesse means you can hang up at the best of your transitions... Still enB approved, it is however recommended that you have already completed a pilot training course (SIV) and have compiled 50 hours of flying time per year to be able to use this type of glider. Fans of bivouac flying will also find what they're looking for in this range, as lightweight versions are also available!
As you can see, there's bound to be an enB paraglider to suit you ...
