Bringing you safely back to Earth.

In an emergency, you need to be able to rely on your reserve parachute 100 %. That's why the PEPPER CROSS LIGHT is a decisive safety feature. Thanks to its design, the square rescue parachute has a very short opening time and high pendulum stability - two factors that can be crucial when the situation gets complicated. The large surface area ensures a low sink rate and the symmetrical structure minimises lateral drift. This means that a stable descent with a pleasant landing is possible. Maximum safety does not have to mean space and weight: the smallest size of the PEPPER CROSS LIGHT weighs only 990 grams.

Anyone who regularly packs their own rescue parachutes will really appreciate the pod with its special line compartment. Robust materials ensure that the parachute will remain in perfect condition for many years.

Five sizes cover loads from 55 to 225 kg, so you always have the right size with you, from ultra-light to tandem flight!

The square rescue parachute is the ultimate in safety. More technical in its design, this "new generation" parachute has been developed to considerably reduce the pendulum effect and improve the sink rate. Efficient, it opens in less than 3 seconds! Bigger than the round parachute, the square rescue offers additional safety. On the other hand, it also comes at a higher price, and repacking it will require a bit of concentration (and lots of tutorials). For maximum safety without adding too much weight to your paragliding equipment, particularly for trekking or bivouac flights, square rescue parachutes are available in light and ultra-light versions. The smallest parachutes, such as the tapa X-Alps from Skywalk weighing up to 780 gr :)

How do you choose?

As you can see, the main argument for the square parachute is not its weight, but the safety it provides. Virtually any classic harness with integrated para pockets will fit it under the seat, whether it's a paragliding school harness, a sport harness or a cocoon harness. It's big, but not too big either :) Some chest pockets, such as the supair OLYS  have specific sizes that allow them to be fitted to the chest strap of light touring harnesses with leg straps. And of course, the light square rescue can be slipped into any (harness) pocket. Like your paraglider, a rescue parachute has a weight range. To optimise its opening, it is recommended to be 15% below its max ptv. CAD that if the max TPV is 100, the ideal is to be at 85kg. Most manufacturers do not take the weight of the glider into account when calculating the total weight of a rescue. So you'll have to take another look at the scales :) Although not compulsory, it is strongly recommended to ensure your safety. Don't hesitate to contact us to find yours, and we'll help you install it in your harness when you buy from us. Approval : All paragliding rescue parachutes are subject to European EN 12491 certification, and must pass a number of tests: - The opening time must be less than 5s, - The shock on opening must not exceed 15g, - Pendulum stability (observation from the ground of the stabilisation of pendulum movements), a parachute that is too unstable will be readjusted (and in any case, instability increases the sink rate...). - Fall rate: after a minimum fall of 100m, the measurement is taken over the last 30 metres before "ditching" → Max 5.5m/s. To ensure that it opens effectively, manufacturers recommend that it be re-bound every year. Tutorials are available to help you, but if you're not sure, don't hesitate to call in a professional or a sail inspection centre.

Here you will find our selection of Rescue parachutes for tandem paragliders. As with solo parachutes, your choice will depend on the type of flying you do. the round two-seater rescue parachute : is the traditional rescue. Compact and relatively light for a tandem rescue, it's easy to pack. It's also the least expensive. the square two-seater rescue parachute : It's the benchmark in terms of safety. More technical in its design, this 'new generation' parachute improves the fall rate and opens in less than 3 seconds. Larger in size, it will also cost more than a round parachute, and will require a little concentration when repacking. the light two-seater rescue parachute : As a tandem rescue parachute is quite bulky, manufacturers have developed lighter versions, round and square, to lighten the already substantial package of our tandem pilots. Don't hesitate to contact us to find yours, and we'll help you fit it into your harness when you buy from us. Certification: All paragliding rescue parachutes are subject to European approval. EN 12491To do this, they have to pass a number of tests: - The opening time must be less than 5s, - The shock on opening must not exceed 15g, - Pendulum stability (observation from the ground of the stabilisation of pendulum movements), a parachute that is too unstable will be readjusted (and in any case, instability increases the sink rate...). - Fall rate: after a minimum fall of 100m, the measurement is taken over the last 30 metres before "ditching" → Max 5.5m/s. To ensure that it opens effectively, manufacturers recommend that it be re-bound every year. Tutorials are available to help you, but if you're not sure, contact a professional or a sail control centre.
